Locke is the center of what Jack sees as irrationality and Jack is the center of what Locke sees as too self righteous.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2282384326274489387.post-53969439977696021252008-08-02T11:30:00.000-07:002008-08-02T11:30:00.000-07:00I don't understand why Locke's belief in and prote...I don't understand why Locke's belief in and protection of the island is "blind faith" or in any way irrational.

If I had been healed from paraplegia and saw others be healed quickly too, among all the other unusual things on the island, I wouldn't be agnostic anymore. I think it's perfectly rational to conclude that this place is special, and must be protected (even at the cost of Naomi and a few castaways) as it could ultimately save many lives. The ends justify the means, right?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2282384326274489387.post-51113952557499205002008-08-02T03:33:00.000-07:002008-08-02T03:33:00.000-07:00Bentham's panopticon?
